Bonjour! We finally arrive at the last story in “The Last Men” trilogy. This story is actually first chronologically (It deals with mythology, as Lightguard dealt with spiritual balance and Bloodknight dealt with loyalty/heritage) and details the earliest phase of the world.

As always, if this story inspires you to write, or if you want to take this idea and develop it further, a small acknowledgement would be great!

And so, without further ado, here is “The Last Godkiller”:

The Last Godkiller tells the story of Bragon, a man born with the ability to destroy the gods. Fearing his power, the gods tried to destroy him and his village, but he alone survived and swore vengeance on them.

Setting out to destroy the gods, he is aided by a dark entity, Vilethorn, that helps him find the gods. While battling one of the gods, he meets and rescues a child named Ryl, and, reminded of his own deceased child, decides to take her along.

He soon forms a close bond with her, protecting her numerous times as he tracks down the remaining gods.

After a long journey, He finally reaches the home of the gods, Abovall, only to discover that they were waiting for him. They explain that Vilethorn, the dark entity, was the one who destroyed his village so that he would destroy the gods in revenge, allowing Vilethorn to rule unopposed.

Ryl is revealed to be a goddess in disguise, who was sent to discover Bragon’s true nature (i.e. Did he have any love left in his heart). Outnumbered, Vilethorn attempts to possess Ryl and force Bragon to kill the gods, but he is defeated by the powerful bond they share.

Making amends with the gods, Bragon leaves on a journey to discover his true purpose.

However, Ryl decides to accompany him, deciding to stay with him and forsake her immortality (gods are forbidden from falling in love with humans), they eventually create Avadoraga’s ancestor.

Thanks for listening! The next story idea is “The Day of the End”, look forward to it!

And remember, Never Lose Your Stride!
